2009 Teaming donation

We visited the Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation on Thursday, March 18 to hand over a gift check for funds raised by Grupo Intercom in 2009.

Imma Llauradó, the foundation’s manager, welcomed us to their facilities and gave us a first-hand look at how the organization works - it aims to provide home care and social assistance to children with cancer. Welcoming children and their families, some of whom come from afar, the foundation carries out a variety of activities, including volunteer programs, hospital improvements and research support. The foundation constantly faces financial difficulties that hinder its activities, but Teaming, a micro-grant based system, is a great way to contribute to their funding.

Also present was Jil van Eyle, creator of the Teaming initiative and now a Grupo Intercom employee. We talked to him about his own experiences and what led him to create the concept. More info.
Softonic, along with Group Intercom, participate in Teaming by collecting €1 every month for a year from the salary of employees who want to collaborate and the company doubles the amount collected by the end. Everybody then votes for a project. In 2009, €4,591.94 was raised for the Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation and we’ll be choosing a recipient project for 2010’s contributions very soon.
